Scope and Contents
This folder contains research copies of records about the formation and organization of Davis County and a few of its cities. The copies were collected in response to a Utah State requirement for local government and limited purpose entity registry (Utah Code 67-1a-15, effective 5/8/2018). Included are copies of acts by the Utah Territorial Legislature creating Davis County, related Utah State Archives finding aids, and Davis County Commission meeting minutes in which commissioners approved resolutions creating Clearfield and Centerville cities. Miscellaneous copies of history documents in the file include maps of Layton City Boundaries in 1957, minutes from a meeting held in 1851 to discuss July 24 celebration activities in Davis County, and maps and information about counties in Utah Territory.
